Respect for the Aged-敬老の日

The third Monday of September is a national holiday here in Japan called (keiro no hi). It is a time to show appreciation and respect for the elderly.

According to reports the elderly population is steadily increasing in Japan. There are over 7 million people aged 80 or older which is around 5.6 percent of the overall population.
