Autumn Equinox Day-秋分の日

September 23rd (Monday the 24th this year) is a national holiday in Japan called shubun no hi. It is a time to say goodbye to summer and welcome the return of fall.

Buddhist hold memorial services called ohigan for 7 days during this time. Japanese people usually visit family graves to pay respect to their ancestors.
